Traffic jams on roads in a way of life or queuing up for in a temple line is understandable. But a human traffic jam at 8,000 meters (26,247 feet) is simply unthinkable. No, it makes one rethink what has the human race turned into?

On 22nd May, a total of some 320 people stood in queue in the final camp to summit Mount Everest. At that altitude, it is dangerous to expose the human body to such high altitudes, which is why mountaineers who summit, stand atop the world for just a few minutes. So waiting for long at that height is simply foolish.

With the help of technology and hi-tech equipment and gears, climbing Everest has become relatively easier than what it was 20 years ago and that’s the reason why we are seeing this queue to summit for a couple of years now.

As more and more people climb, it makes one wonder – is it really that much of a challenge now to summit Everest?
