Air India being bled to death

This news is like a tight slap on all of us “sacrificing” citizens of India while the politicians make merry.

For all this tall talk about urging people to come clean and pay up taxes, give up black money, it reeks of complete hypocrisy to know that the govt does even bother to clear its travel bill it owes to Air India; forget them paying tax or coming clean on black money.

Continuing to bleed the national carrier to death, the Govt’s VVIP and defence services together owe a hefty bill of Rs.750 crore to Air India. VVIPs does include the PM, ministers, other politicians with Z-category security. The defence service bill could pertain to the evacuation it did at Port Blair during the cyclone.

The airline had got a bailout package of Rs 30,000 crore from the previous government. It has also written to the present government for more funds so that its turnaround plan does not crash.

Well, this is how the Govt runs its own ship! One cannot help but feel a deep sense of being cheated all the time!
