Amazon's amazing plans

It is very heartwarming to see the new age technology embrace and take along with the age-old institutions, instead of throwing it to the wayside. Maybe we have to thank Alibaba, which uses China Post for is delivery but the good thing is that Amazon is using Indian postal network for its deliveries.

This could not have been a better idea. The Indian Post has got the widest possible network, penetrating into the smallest and most isolated of the villages. It totally has around 1.6 lakh post offices spread across India of which 1.4 lakh are in rural India.

This is indeed a great idea and Amazon has proposed to the Govt the use of new technology like real-time tracking devices and delivery mechanism based on logistics. If the approval is given, it would surely go a long way in reviving the almost dead Indian Post, especially in urban India. It would be like a second-life and what a pleasure it would be see the ubiquitous postman now deliver these goods, with his khakis and satchel bag.
