Amul, which processes and packages buffalo and cow milk will now commence marketing camel milk, come this Independence Day. Camel milk will be collected and processed by the Kutch District Cooperative Milk Producers Union, popularly known as Sarhad Diary.
Kutch has nearly 12000 camels and nearly 3000 of which are she-camels yield 5-6 litres of milk daily. Camel milk is low on fat content, rich in Vitamin C and offers health benefits to patients suffering from Blood pressure, Tuberculosis, Cancer and Gastritis.
