Cars offer discount galore!

We all know that the Indian auto sector has slowed down but real proof which will make even the disbelievers believe is the fact that Maruti’s top selling brand, which had months of waiting period, Swift is now being offered by Maruti at a discount. This is the first time ever since the launch of Swift that it is being offered at a discount and that too with immediate delivery.  But Maruti has clarified – the discount is only for the corporate and not for retail customers.

Maruti is giving a discount of Rs.5000 cash corporate discount and that too on its most sought after, diesel variant and delivery is on same day. There are some dealers who are offering cash discounts of almost Rs.10,000 on select variants even on hugely successful brand, Dzire.

March is seasonally the time for discounts as it the end of the fiscal and there is always the need to clear stock. Most car makers are today offering a discount and freebies to an extent which has never before been seen. Tata Motors, General Motors, Maruti, Hyundai are all today offering discounts. Volkswagen is giving a new Vento is exchange for the old car and Skoda has introduced EMI holiday for one year on its Rapid series. SIAM has said that the sector needs at least a 100 bps rate cut for demand to pick up. Well, that surely means, it is going to be a really long, long wait.
