A stock which is in the business of death or cemeteries to be less dramatic?  Not in India but yes, there is such a stock listed on the bourses and is hugely popular. It is one of the most sought after and highly traded stocks.

The company goes by the name of Fu Shou Yuan and through its online portal, it offers everything which is required to celebrate death – headstone, disposition of the ashes of the deceased, flowers and its main earner is the burial plots.

The company also offers the facility of pre-booking the order. Senior citizens can decide how they want to be buried and pay up themselves for the service too. The company owns land banks and then offers plots for burial and that is where it makes its maximum money. So it is like a property developer combined with consumer goods and services. When the company had come out with its IPO, the issue was subscribed by 700 times. Looks like the Chinese know where to put their money without any emotional aspect attached to it. Or on a philosophical note, they know that death is a part of life, so why not make the most of it too!
