Darshan online
Right now, doing everything online has become the norm. Online work, online studies, online exams, online shopping, online food and so on. But getting God also online?
Yes, with so many temples closed, and rightly so, online darshans are being offered. In Simla, the rush of people during Navratras, Ashtami and Ram Navami is huge. There, the Sankat Mochan, Tara Devi and Kali Bari Temples are all shut. But they now will show the religious functions through live webcasting for devotees throughout the day during the celebrations.
Mumbai’s Siddhivinayak temple, Shirdi, Shanishignapur, Mumbadevi, Tirupati, Babulnath – almost everybody has moved online. Jains have a big festival – Avambil coming up – from 31st March till 8th April. Some monks and Jain gurus have moved online. Shrimad Rajchandra Mission streamed a weekly lecture on Youtube.
The famous Mahim Church and St.Peter’s Church in Bandra have also been closed and they are also livestreaming their prayers.
Those needing more reinforcement to their faith, move online and get blessed.
