Hero getting stronger
It looks like Hero Motocorp is finally emerging of its own after the split up with Honda and then the relentless competition from Bajaj. Whenever a couple separates, it takes a while for life to settle down; there are teething troubles and major adjustment issues but over a period of time, slowly things simmer down. It is only after this phase that there begins growth. And it looks like the growth phase has begun.
Hero Motocorp, after its separation from Honda faced a lot of adjustment issues and Baja Auto could leverage during this vulnerable patch. Post the divorce, Hero said that it will work on consolidating its R&D and will come up with new products to fight off competition. That seems to be happening finally now. The good news is that in Feb, the company’s R&D developed its new scooter, Duet, which was rolled out in the East Zone. The other scooter indigenously developed was Maestro Edge and both together are expected to help the company consolidate its market share.
Looks like Hero knows that scooters is where all the moolah lay and lets see how Bajaj and TVS buckle up to beat this stronger Hero.
