Jaguar. It’s a fierce, beautiful, bold and sleek cat. It is also the brand name of UK based manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover. The brand associated with luxury, high end cars has been working from the past two years to develop ‘Baby Jag’ which will essentially be a smaller, cheaper and fuel efficient version of the luxury car.

Jaguar aims to target the entry level luxury market which has been ignored till now by the British car makers. At the entry level luxury car segment, the cars are usually priced from Rs.15-30 lakhs which is currently ruled by German car makers- Mercedes, BMW and Audi.

The success of Baby Jag can be known by next year end when it is aiming to be launched. The German makers are not too far behind and working towards creating their own sleeker, smaller versions too. After all, with 2.66 million luxury cars sold in the entry level segment in 2012- are we really surprised that new cars are being launched everyday?
