Looks like, populating the Earth is not enough. We are now seeking alternate planets to populate, settle, breed and live. The latest destination of choice - Mars.

Mars One is a Dutch non-profit foundation which intends to establish a permanent human settlement on Mars by the year 2023. The last date for registration for the same is August 31st  and already 165,000 people from across the world have signed up. India is fourth amongst other countries of the world with 8107 applicants as on August 27th.  USA is first in the list with over 37,852 applicants, China second with 13,124 applicants, Brazil third with 8686 applicants. The purpose of this foundation was to rekindle the belief that human settlement is possible on an alternate planet with the help of existing technologies.

The selection and training for the human crew, who will be responsible for permanent settlement in Mars has already begun. And, the search for Astronauts too has commenced since April 2013. We’ve all heard of second homes and now it’s second planet time.
