RBL Bank takes progressive steps
It is good to see that it is smaller and relatively new banks on the block which are taking progressive steps to help people overcome the current demonetization crunch.
Digital money wallet Oxigen and RBL Bank have joined hands to supply cash to people through micro ATMs installed in mobile vans across Delhi NCR. RBL Bank has commissioned Oxigen to deploy 25 of its SuperPoS MicroATM on mobile vans to ease cash flow problems following demonetisation. This will enable RBL to offer doorstep banking services to customers who can use their Aadhaar-linked bank accounts to withdraw and deposit cash, money transfer and even make payments and recharge.
Scrapped Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes can also be deposited into the accounts. The micro ATMs will use thumb impressions and/or Aadhaar details to facilitate these transactions.
We cannot help but wonder why is it that none of the big private sector banks took any such measures throughout these tough days. They are so eager to even send their representative to your home, click your pic and open your account. When that eagerness was shown to open accounts why no conveniences to help the very same account holders to help tide over this pain?
