Shifting gear to smaller towns

While living in a big city always has its perks, today’s youngsters and professionals are looking for that ultimate work and life balance which seems impossible in the hustle and bustle of a metro city.

A few decades ago, people born in villages and smaller metros and towns would shift gear to metros for a better standard of living. Today, the same thing seems to be happening in reverse. Reverse migration is the trend of the day.  The companies outsource juniors and fresher level candidates from smaller towns and recruit seniors and more experienced professionals from metros. This trend is more rampant in the BPO industry where professionals between the age group of 25 to 35 are moving to smaller towns for a higher standard of living with a lower price tag.

True, a life in a metro is unmatched but with the hassles, stress and exorbitant cost of living, which comes with it; smaller towns seems better. Ironic, isn’t it? A few decades later maybe, smaller towns may become the hub and metros will take a backseat.
