Star power to good use
There is no denying the fact that film stars have a lot of appeal and whatever they say and do, people try to emulate. They are like a role model for many but sadly only a few use this power for the betterment of the people; most of the time it is used to only increase their box collections.
Like Aamir Khan, who is involved completely in making Maharashtra drought free through his water movement, Akshay Kumar is doing some good in his own way. For him, the jawans are a soft spot and he has always shown concern for their well-being.
Some time ago, he had mooted the idea of starting an app to support the families of the slain jawans. And he has since then got it done. The app - 'Bharat Ke Veer' has been developed to extend financial help to the families of soldiers who lost their lives serving the country. Through the app, people can send in financial help to the family of deceased.
The app will allow a maximum transfer of Rs 15 lakh as a donation to the verified account of the next of kin of those soldiers who lost their lives at the line of duty. The government has also approved the app.
The app is yet to be launched and the star, along with Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Minister of State Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju is expected to launch the website and the app soon.
