This Martian is quick
A car recall on issues of quality has become routine and it does not create so much panic. But recall of a candy bar? Now that is really scary.
Mars one of the most popular candy bar makers in the bworld had five major recalls. And the problem was that a piece of the red plastic, which is used for the outer packaging of the bar was found embedded in the Snickers bar. The company dug in and traced back the root cause and the found that the problem was at its manufacturing plant in Netherlands. And it actually got into the specifics where it said that batches made between Dec and January and all those candy bars, across the world are being recalled. All bars which say “Mars Netherlands” are being recalled and this includes bars of Snickers, Milky Ways, Mars, Celebrations and Mini Mix.
A piece of plastic was found and this is the kind of immediate global response. One cannot help but once again think about the lackadaisical way in which Nestle had reacted, that too for something as potent as lead. Or Cadbury, where a worm was found. Here, we rarely have fears of licenses being cancelled or coming getting sued to bankruptcy and that is what makes the very same global companies react in different ways.
