The small silver linings from the grim corona situation world over are what will keep us going, keeping the hope alive that all will indeed be well. Its just a matter of time; we just have to wait out this virus.

The way in which the state of Kerala is handling the virus is remarkable. Mumbai might be the financial capital, housing the richest man in the country and Delhi might be the capital housing the most powerful man in the country but undeniably, it is Kerala which has the best health care system in the country.

The rate of recovery, based in patients who tested positive for Covid-19 between March 9 and 20, Kerala has the highest rate of recovery at 84% and on a macro level,  the recovery rate in Kerala is 17% v/s Maharashtra’s 5.5% and Delhi’s 4.04%.

The Kerala government has been trying to instill hope and cheer through its tweets and daily press conferences. For the people in the state, 6 PM is a most looked forward as it’s the time when the CM, Pinarayi Vijayan and state health minister K.K. Shailaja, brief the Press, taking questions and answering them with facts, every single day.

The CM has been sharing tweet updates with the message “We shall overcome”, health minister Shailaja has been tweeting out photos of people who have recovered from the virus.

This is the kind of hope people from all states should have – the hope that they are being taken care and will recover from the virus. Once that faith comes in, this fear mongering will stop.
