What does NIFTY AUTO index comprise of?
Nifty Auto Index represents the behavior and movements in the stocks which basically comprise of Automobile sector companies. In this Index top 16 companies are included. These companies are deals in manufacturing of cars, automobiles, heavy vehicles, ancillaries, tyres etc.
This index represents about 8.6% of the free float market capitalization of the stocks listed on NSE and 91.1% of the free float market capitalization of the stocks forming part of the Automobiles sector universe as on 31st March, 2016. This index can be used for various purposes like benchmarking fund portfolio, Introducing of index funds, ETFs and structured products.
