What does the BSE SENSEX index comprise of?

BSE Sensex is an index. BSE Sensex also called as BSE 30 or only as Sensex. It was established on 01st January 1986. BSE Sensex is considered as pulse for Indian domestic market. This index is calculated based on the free float market capitalization method. BSE Sensex comprise of 30 well establish companies having consistent growth and good PE ratio.

This index is indicator of market movement. If BSE Sensex goes up it represents most of the shares which are listed on BSE Sensex are in uptrend. Likewise, if BSE Sensex goes down it represents most of the shares which are listed on BSE Sensex are on downtrend.
