Boosted by a strong performance from the textile segment and equally good show from the Brand and retail segment, the company posted a very good set of numbers for Q4FY16. Consolidated Net sales for the quarter rose 14% (YoY) at Rs.2314 crore. Costs were up 14% but operating profits increased 13% to Rs.230 crore. It ended the quarter with a net profit at Rs.110 crore, up over 2.3 times Q4FY15 net profit of Rs.47 crore – this profit was dented due to exceptional expense of Rs.48 crore thus lower base effect shows an extraordinary jump. QoQ, net profit for the quarter rose 7%.
The textiles segment contributed 58% to topline and its revenue grew 4% while EBIT rose 16%. The Brand and Retail vertical contributed 32% to the total revenue and itself showed a smart 31% jump in topline and 32% increase in EBIT. The realty business is now demerged from this flagship company into another subsidiary.
The company ended FY16 with a consolidated net profit at Rs.363 crore, up 6%. EPS stands at Rs.14 (FV Rs.10). Borrowing as at 31st March 2016 was up 4% at Rs.3209 crore. Interest outgo during the year was at Rs.381 crore.
