Bharat Immunologicals and Biologicals Corporation Limited is a PSU and it makes a range of pharmaceuticals products such as Oral Polio Vaccines (OPV Vaccine), Zinc Tablet & Diarrhea Management Kit etc. The Govt holds 59.25% take.

A perennially loss making company, for a change, in current Q2FY17, the company actually went on to post a net profit of Rs.1.55 crore v/s loss of Rs.2.47 crore in previous Q2. Even in Q1, it had a loss but much lesser of Rs.38 lakh. Networth is wiped out and equity is pretty heavy at Rs.43.18 crore.

This profit was despite a 15% (YoY) drop in net sales – what really helped was the 50% drop in total expenses. The PSU remains debt free and cash as at 30^th Sept’16 stands at over Rs.18 crore.
