For the first quarter ended 31st March 2014, this Standard and Poor’s rating company posted a good set of numbers. Its consolidated income from operations rose 21% (YoY) to Rs. 309 crore on a 39% rise in net profit at Rs.69 crore.
The numbers were led mainly by Research Services, which showed a 28% rise in turnover and EBIT grew 27%. 58% of its revenue comes from this Research segment. Rating services earned Rs.115 crore turnover, which was 16% higher (YoY), with EBIT coming in higher by 20%. The third segment, Advisory services, contributes just 4% to the turnover and its showed a 17% rise in revenue and 3% in EBIT. EPS for the quarter stands at Rs.9.8 (re.1 face value) and it hit a new high today at Rs.1277.50. Though quoted at a substantial premium over its peers like ICRA and CARE, this company continues to enjoy immense investor fancy.
