This small private sector bank posted an increase in profitability and asset quality showed only a slight uptick. Its net profit rose 38% (YoY) at Rs.65 crore on a 32% rise in NII at Rs.233 crore and non-interest income rose 43% to Rs.86 crore. This surge in non-NII is what helped boost the bottomline and this non-NII rose thanks to the one-time treasury gain of Rs.21 crore v/s Rs.10 crore (YoY). NII was better – up from 4.05% to 4.23%.
In terms of asset quality, Gross NPA rose marginally from 1.72% to 1.74% while Net NPA increased from 0.87% to 0.92%. Its provisions rose from Rs.21 crore to Rs.35 crore.
As at 30th June 2017, the Bank had 290 branches across 19 states and 3 union territories.
