The rough seas seem to have affected the company’s Q1FY17 performance. On a 11% (YoY) drop in consolidated net sales at Rs.893 crore, the company ended the quarter with a 25% fall in net profit at Rs.234 crore. EBITDA was down 8% at Rs.526 crore but margins improved from 57.14% to 58.96%. As of 30th June 2016, long term debt net of cash was at Rs.1871 crore, down 24% (YoY).
The company currently has 24 tankers of which 7 are for crude carriers, 15 for product carriers and 2 for gas carriers. In dry bulk, it has 12 carriers thus the total fleet size is 36 ships. The company usually gives a future outlook and it has stated that its revenue visibility for FY17 is Rs.907 crore, while assuming operating days at 55% level for crude, 69% for product including gas carriers and 53% of bulk.
