Spreads a delectable aroma

LT Foods, which sells basmati rice under the brand name of Daawat and many more, has done well for itself in Q4FY17. On the back of very good growth in volumes, there has been an overall improvement. Volumes rose 30% at 78,000 MT and consolidated revenue showed a good 20% (YoY) growth at Rs.968 crore. In terms of profitability, EBITDA was up 13% at Rs.112 crore and net profit was at Rs.38 crore, up 32%.

The company ended FY17 also on a good note. Net profit came in at Rs.129 crore, up 10.5% and it generated a cash profit of Rs.183 crore, up 9%. 48% of its revenue in FY17 came from India, 27% from North America, 13% from Middle East and 12% from RoW.

During the year, the company set up a subsidiary in UK and set up a facility in Rotterdam, to be inaugurated before end of Q1FY18. It acquired brand 817 Elephant to strengthen its presence in Europe and America and it has started selling this. In the Middle East, it acquired two brands, Indus Valley and Rozana to further strengthen its foothold in this region
