Angel One is one big newsmaker and loser on the bourses today morning; opening 6% lower at Rs.1605, the stock price plummeted down to Rs.1585, falling more than 7%. Its 52-week low is at Rs.1000.
The stock price fell after the NSE passed an order against the company, allegedly on its failure to monitor the operations of its Authorised Persons (APs). This apparently led to violation of capital market regulations and Futures and Options (F&O) Segment Regulations of the Exchange.
The NSE has imposed a monetary penalty of Rs.1.67 crore and prohibited the brokerage from onboarding new APs for a period of six months.
NSE has directed Angel One to conduct inspection of all its APs and submit a report within six months.
