Local search engine provider Just Dial announced last evening that it has launched a new app for its search engine functions for Google Android users while the iOS Apple app has also been submitted and will be launched very soon. This has lead to a nearly 13% spurt in share price of Just Dial, up by Rs. 104 currently ruling at Rs. 921 per share. Volumes have also been very robust on both the exchanges.

While the company already had a mobile app in place for quite some time, this new visually appealing multi-purpose Search Plus app is aimed at enhancing experience for users by providing a one-stop online solution for a variety of user requirements pertaining to information retrieval, search and online transactions. When many e-commerce companies have either gone app-only or continue to see growing user engagement via app (travel bookings, cab aggregators, food delivery etc.), it is buy obvious that the mobile phone cannot be ignored by any retail consumer facing company, especially someone like Just Dial.

Company’s current market cap stands at little less than Rs. 6,500 crore. Share has 52 week high and low price of Rs. 1,749.95 and Rs. 749 respectively on the BSE.
