Balaji Telefilms goes "flying"
Intra day, Balaji Telefilms rose over 9.5% at Rs.119.50, with volumes showing an almost 3 times spurt. The stock’s 52-week high and low stands at Rs.150.40 and Rs.65.25 respectively.
The stock price is in the limelight as its much awaited and mired in controversy film, Udta Punjab has been given the go-ahead with just one cut.
The movie is now slated for release on 17th June and is to be screened with an “A” certification. Earlier, the CBFC had asked for some 89 cuts and it is thus good news that it is going ahead with only one cut; more importantly it is getting released.
The movie has created a lot of positive buzz and the feeling is that, post all this attention after controversies, the movie will turn into a big money grosser. The trade pundits predict that the opening day collection could be around Rs.14-20 crore.
