Bharti Airtel rises 10%

Bharti Airtel ended Q2FY21 also in the red but the good news here – the consolidated net loss came down to Rs.763 crore v/s loss of Rs.23,045 crore (YoY) and loss of Rs.15,933 crore in Q1FY21. The loss of Q1 was mainly on account of the one-time provisioning of Rs.10,744 crore for the AGR liabilities.
Other highlights of the earnings:
- Posted its highest ever consolidated quarterly revenues
- Consolidated quarterly revenues at Rs 25,785 crore – up 22.0% YoY , up 8% (QoQ)
- Consolidated EBITDA at Rs 11,848 crore – up 11% (QoQ); EBITDA margin at 46% - improvement of 366 bps YoY and 43.5% (QoQ)
- Consolidated EBIT at Rs 4,412 crore; EBIT margin at 17.1% - improvement of 768 bps YoY
- India revenues Rs 18,747 crore up 22.0% YoY led by strong 4G customer momentum and up-trading
- Mobile services India revenues up 26.0% YoY
- Mobile ARPU at Rs 162 vs Rs 128 in Q2’20 v/s Rs.157 (QoQ)
- 4G data customers at 152.7 Mn, up by 14.4 Mn for the quarter
- Usage metrics remain best in class; Data usage per sub at 16.0 GBs/month
- Airtel Business and Homes sees revenue growth of 7.5% and 7.3% YoY respectively
- DTH added 549K customers during the quarter. Base increases from 16.8 Mn in Q1’21 to 17.4 Mn in Q2’21
- Total Capex spend for the quarter of Rs 6,791 crore
The stock is currently trading among the top three gainers on the BSE. It opened with a gain of 3% at Rs.446 and rose 10% to hit an intraday high at Rs.487.80. Its 15% UC for the day is at Rs.497.95.
