BHEL buzzing loud
BHEL is buzzing loud and clear today, figuring among the top five gainers on the BSE. The stock opened almost 6.5% higher at Rs.271 and went to an intraday high at Rs.292, rising 14.5%. Its 52-week high is at Rs.322.35.
The reason? It has received an order from Adani Power to set up a 2x800 MW thermal power plant (TPP) in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, and as per the contract, BHEL will supply equipment’s such as boilers, turbines, generators and related auxiliaries, and also oversee the commissioning of the power project utilizing 'supercritical technology. This will be made at its Trichy and Haridwar plants and the order stipulates supply of unit-1 within 35 months and unit-2 within 41 months.
It received another order from Mirzapur Thermal Energy (UP) Private Ltd to construct a 2x800 MW thermal power project at Mirzapur Phase I, in Uttar Pradesh, worth over Rs 3,500 crore.
