Dixon at new high
Dixon Technologies, from yesterday’s close of Rs.5267.65, opened higher today at Rs.5372 and went on to hit a new52-week high at Rs.5568.60.
The stock price hit the roof on unconfirmed news that it has tied up with Taiwanese personal computer (PC) maker Acer for the contract manufacturing of laptops, initially for the domestic market and then possibly for exports.
The news is that it will start with the production of 500,000 Acer laptops annually in its plant in India, with a capacity of 7,00,000 laptops per annum in Phase one. Production is expected to start in December.
The company is also said to be exploring the option of putting up a 20 lakh per annum tablets making plant and is currently said to be in talks with global players for long-term deals.
