Equitas makes a strong debut

Equitas Holdings is the debutant on the bourses today. The IPO had closed on 7th April and was subscribed 17.21 times. The IPO was priced at Rs.110 and today, it opened at the same price, Rs.110, on the BSE. It soon climbed up to Rs.147 and is now at Rs.142, a premium nevertheless to the IPO price.

This IPO had seen the highest bidding come from HNIs – the non-institutional portion was subscribed 57.29 times while institutional was 14.93 times. Retail portion was very small at 1.40 times.

In our IPO analysis, we had said, “Despite this, professional management, good track record, positive bias on the multiple sectors in which the company is / will be engaged in, as a holding company, IPO is seen fairly valued and investment is advised for listing gains, as also, with a Medium term view, as an investor.”
