Godfrey Phillips India, which is the official maker and marketer for Marlboro and other own brands like Four Square, Red & White and Cavanders is not exactly smoking a good pipe today.

The stock price has tumbled down into the red, down 4.5% at Rs.1385 levels with an intra day low at Rs.1350. The market has given a clear thumbs down to its Q1FY17 performance with its net profit declining 62% (YoY) at Rs.22 crore on a 12% drop in total income at Rs.941 crore.

EBITDA for the quarter slipped down by a huge 60% at Rs.42 crore with margins more than halving from 9.7% to 4.4%.
