Glaxco Smithkline Pharma is currently the top gainer on the BSE, up over 5% at Rs.2594, with an intra day high at Rs.2684. Volumes are up over 3 times at almost 14,000 shares today.

This stock, along with other pharma stocks is up today as investors are seen to be taking long term positions in such defensive stocks as today has turned out to be another day of major uncertainty and pessimism. Pharma, consumer durables are in the “up” list while metals, realty and infra as on the major “down” dragging down the index.
