HUL on price hike trail

Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) yesterday announced a price hike across its soaps and detergents product range. The price hike is in the range of 3 to 20% and this in on account of the increasing raw material costs.
Prior to this, the company had hiked rates in Nov’21 in the range of 3 to 30%. These are collectively sharp price hikes and will the effect on the margins will reflect only in Q4FY22.
The company is expected to announce its Q3FY22 earnings on the 20th Jan’22.
The stock price has shown a muted reaction to the price hike. The stock, which had closed yesterday at Rs.2402.10, opened higher today at Rs.2415 and is now trading at Rs.2406 levels. Its 52-week high is at Rs.2859.10 and low is at Rs.2104.25.
