KEC International jumps on order receipt

KEC International is amongst the top five gainers on the BSE currently, up over 7.5% intra day at Rs.143.95. It has since then come off this high and is now at Rs.140, up some 4.5%. Its 52-week high is at Rs.164.75 and low is at Rs.97.45.

The stock is up after the company announced yesterday evening that it has bagged a Rs.1036 crore order, coming from three orders in three verticals.

The big order is of Rs.666 crore, which its T&D unit received from Middle East and USA. This includes Rs 582 crore worth of order from Abu Dhabi Transmission and Dispatch Company for supply and construction of 400 KV transmission line from Barakah Switchyard to Madinat Zayed Grid Substation in Abhu Dhabi.

The second big order was for its Railway unit which got a Rs.317 crore order from Rail Vikas Nigam. This is for electrification, civil works, track laying, signaling, construction of road beds and bridges in connection with doubling between Raebareli and Amethi stations

And the third order was worth Rs.53 crore for supply of power cables and telecom cables.
