Nestle's Maggi brings back taste
Nestle had once again a reason to celebrate. This was after the Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI) cleared its Maggi noodles after conducting another battery of tests. This test was under the directive of Supreme Court, reiterating that its instant noodles brand is safe for consumption. The company said that all 29 samples tested by CFTRI were clear, with lead levels within permissible limits.
The Supreme Court on December 16 last year, ordered testing of samples of Maggi noodles in Mysore laboratory after the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) had directed that it be done in Chennai.
This news came in yesterday after market hours and today morning it surged as much as 5% to Rs 6,180, outperforming the plat BSE FMCG index.
