Shares of Suzlon Energy are trading higher by 2.5% at Rs. 22.40 per share, having retraced from highs of Rs. 22.75 made early in trade. A combined 29 lakh shares have exchanged hands on BSE and NSE.

Company has produced its first blade for the next generation S111 2.1 MW turbine, called SB54 blade, which is ~80% longer than the wing of a Boeing 777, and has capacity to deliver 20% higher average energy production, as compared to Suzlon’s S97 wind turbine model. The new blade is expected to yield better energy production, thereby improving Return on Investment (RoI) for its customer.

World’s fifth largest wind turbine making group has said that the first S111 turbine prototypes are being assembled and will be erected and tested in India and USA later this year, while certification for the same is expected in H2-2015. Hope these technological innovations improve the credibility of company and its wind turbines, which in turn may help it restore its crowning glory back!
