Rajshree Sugars spurts over 12%
Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals makes sugar and industrial alcohol India and it has also diversified into the business of manufacturing cotton yarn by acquiring textile mill of Rajshree Spinning Mills in 1997 as well as Biotechnology which produces fertilizers, pesticides and other chemical products.
The company, like the rest of the companies in the sugar sector, posted excellent numbers for Q1FY18. On a 48% (YoY) rise in revenue at Rs.211 crore, despite a 34% drop in operating profit due to increased expenses, the company ended the quarter with a whopping 140% increase in net profit at Rs.18 crore. It was the sugar division which earned it the major moolah while the distillery unit showed a major drop in EBIT. Even co-generation showed a drop in bottomline.
The stock has shown a very good rise in volumes at over 3 times and the price rose over 12% at Rs.58.80.
