Sun Pharma announces its buyback

Sun Pharma, which had closed yesterday at Rs.751.70, it opened today slightly lower at Rs.750 but soon jumped up to an intra day high at Rs.765. It was the only stock in the Sensex which was in the green when stocks across the board crashed. It has not been able to hold onto the green and is now in the red, down less than 0.5% at Rs.749.
The market was waiting with a lot of anxiety for the Board meeting on its buy back yesterday and the news came in today morning. Its Board has approved a buyback of 7.5 million shares at a price of Rs.900/share.
15% of this buyback offer is reserved for shareholders having not more than shares worth Rs.2 lakh as on the record date. The Board has fixed 15th July as the record date.
