Tata Motors revvs up

Tata Motors is a bright star today, almost revving up to full speed after the long weekend.

Driven mainly by the JLR numbers for Jan-March quarter, Tata Motors and Tata Motors DVR are right here among the top five gainers on the BSE. Tata Motors rose over 8% to an intraday high at Rs.473.10 and that too on the back of an almost 4x surge in volumes.

Tata Motors DVR also rose 8.5% to Rs.235.45 and remains firmly in the green.

The group global wholesales, including luxury brand, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) during Jan-March quarter rose 8% (YoY) to 3,61,361 units.

The combined worldwide sales of all Tata Motors' commercial vehicles and Tata Daewoo range in the January-March period totalled 118,321 units, up 3%.

The company  sold 107,386 units of JLR at wholesale level for Q4FY23 (including China JV), up around 16 % (QoQ), while retail sales were 102,889 units, up 21% (QoQ) and up 30% (YoY). Its current order book stands at 2 lakh units.
