Trent perks up
Trent is the top gainer on the BSE; from its close of Rs.1037.25, it opened much higher at Rs.1100 and went on to hit an intraday high at Rs.1133.25, very close to its 10% UC of the day at Rs.1140.95.
The market is very happy with its Q2FY22 performance wherein it posted a consolidated net profit of Rs.80 crore v/s loss of Rs.78 crore (YoY).
Its revenue from operations saw over twofold jump to Rs.1,178.08 crore, compared with ?585.37 crore in the year-ago period. The company's total expenses during the quarter stood at Rs.1,116, up 58%.
The company said that Trent's fashion business has in particular recovered sharply and is now back to operating profitability. Online channel registered over 95% growth in Q2 over the previous quarter.
Trent is continuing to focus on building out differentiated brands and strong expansion of its reach through stores and digital platform.
