Vodafone Idea hangs up
Vodafone Idea is the top loser on the BSE currently. From its close of yesterday at Rs.9.95, the stock opened at Rs.8.96 and went down to an intraday low at Rs.8.46. Its 20% LC for the day is at Rs.7.96.
The company reported a Q4FY21 net loss of Rs.7023 crore, much higher than Rs.4532 crore (QoQ) but lower than Rs.11,643 crore loss (YoY). Its revenue tumbled down 12% to Rs.9608 crore (QoQ). The company also had an exceptional loss of Rs.974 crore during the quarter.
Its Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) for the quarter decline from Rs.121 to Rs.107 (QoQ) and this was on account of removal of IUC, adjusting for which ARPU was broadly flat this quarter.
Vodafone Idea had over 267.8 million subscribers as of March 31, 2021.
The company also had a warning for the future, saying, “The company’s financial performance has impacted its ability to generate the cash flow that it needs to settle/ refinance its liabilities and guarantees as they fall due, which along with its financial condition is resulting in material uncertainty that casts significant doubt on the company’s ability to make the payments mentioned therein and continue as a going concern.”
