Wipro in the green

After the weak few days due to the stronger rupee, Wipro is up in the green today. The stock, which had closed yesterday at Rs.481.50, opened higher at Rs.486, going on to hit an intra day high at Rs.496.40. It currently remains at Rs.493 levels, up almost 2.5%.

The stock is up after the company announced that it signed a deal with Japan's Takeda Pharmaceutical Company to provide IT infrastructure management services. Takeda is the largest pharma company in Japan and one of the leading global companies in the pharma sector.

The company, in its Press Release has stated that this strategic partnership will build advanced value in Takeda's operations by consolidating IT platforms across the organization. As a strategic partner, Wipro will build and maintain an "as-a-service" global platform for Takeda that will drive synergies across its global entities through standardization of IT architecture. Wipro will be primary provider of IT Infrastructure management services covering Takeda's entities across the world, touching 30,000 users in 16 different languages, operating out of data centers in Asia, Europe and America.
